Our Commitment to Accessibility
The Middleville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is committed to providing a website that is accessible and inclusive for all visitors, including individuals with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to access information about our programs, events, businesses, grants, and community resources regardless of technology or ability.
We are continually working to improve the accessibility and usability of our website and strive to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which are recognized internationally and support compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Accessibility Features
We work to provide a website that:
- Supports keyboard navigation.
- Is compatible with modern screen readers and assistive technologies.
- Uses clear headings and logical page structure.
- Includes descriptive alternative text for meaningful images whenever possible.
- Provides sufficient color contrast for readability.
- Allows users to resize text using standard browser controls.
- Is responsive and accessible across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing process.
As we continue to add new pages, documents, images, videos, and online services, we regularly review our website to identify and address accessibility barriers. This includes both automated testing and manual review to improve usability for all visitors.
While we strive to make every page fully accessible, some third-party applications, documents, maps, videos, or embedded content may not yet fully conform to accessibility standards. We continue working with vendors and content creators to improve accessibility whenever possible.
The Middleville DDA values inclusion and equal access for everyone. We are committed to continually improving the accessibility of our digital services and welcome feedback that helps us better serve our residents, businesses, visitors, and community partners.
